GONZALO GUEVARA Gonzalo Guevara was born on Decenber 12,1968 in El Salvador ,Central America.In 1988, in order to escape the civil war that took the lives of his two brothers and was raging in his country, Gonzalo Guevara crossed the Rio Grande and emigrated to the United States. Working full time to care for his family has not stopped Mr. Guevara from mastering English and learning the customs and culture of his adopted country, nor has it prevented him from pursuing the other great passion in his life, his art. Gonzalo believes that art must be considered as the part of evolucionary process that defines humanity. The art of Gonzalo Guevara is filled with references and allusions to his heritage and the Yucatan peninsula. his art makes comentary on the culture he has lef behind as well as the culture to which he has come. It exposes his sense of humor and his sense of irony, most of all it exposes his love of life and gives a strong voice to the hopes and dreams of Latinos in America, bridging the gap between the two cultures.
