Kyotofu is an adorable cozy yet elegant Japanese dessert restaurant located right in the middle of Hell’s Kitchen.

Tofu desserts include matcha green tea tofu cheesecake, signature sweet tofu, and black sesame sweet tofu. If tofu isn’t your thing, don’t worry, the warm mochu chocolate cake is delicious. Personally though the strawberry shortcake made with sansho pepper shortcake, tofu cream, strawberry nigori sake sorbet is my favorite. The raspberry lychee "anmitsu” a jelly like fruit dessert will leave you feeling refreshed.

Don’t worry; if you’re hungry for something more filling, there are plenty of appetizers. Chicken & tofu sliders teriyaki are grilled with shiso in a brioche bun with a side of lotus root chips.  The green tea soba noodles served chilled with daikon, naganegi scallion, & wasabi are also another delicious choice. For brunch, try the Japanese brioche french toast or the truffled egg and toast.

There are several drink options including shocu: a Japanese distilled spirt, a large selection of sake, Japanese beer and wine.   One of the best cocktails is the: harajuku martini made with lychee, green apple puree, shochu. It’s so sweet you won’t even end up tasting the alcohol.

If you’re a tea drinker there are several options including hoji-cha roasted green tea, organic lavender, and jasmine pearl.

Also keep in mind every Sunday, all sake is half off from 5:30-12:30 pm
