For children ages seven to fourteen and their adult companions
Children and adults are offered the opportunity to express their ideas about what they see in slide and video presentations given by artists, as well as to ask questions about art-making techniques and materials and artistic inspiration.
In her work Dove Bradshaw enlists the unpredictable effects of time, weather, erosion, and indoor and outdoor atmospheric conditions on natural, chemical, and man-made materials. She has created chemical paintings that change with the atmosphere and erosion sculptures of salt and stone, and, most recently, she has worked with crystals to receive radio transmissions from weather stations, local and short-wave transmissions, and signals from Jupiter via radio-telescope and microwave receivers that intercept outer-space signals and echoes of the Big Bang.
Admission is free. Preregistration is required. Registration for fall programs will take place shortly after Labor Day.
We suggest subscribing to the Family Programs E-News to stay abreast of registration and program information.
