When Everything Changed: A Look at Changes in the Lives of American Women Over the Past 50 Years
November 10, 2009 (One-week online seminar)
Live Webcast on November 10 at 6:30 PM EDT
A look at the stunning changes in the lives and status of American women over the past 50 years. New York Times Columnist Gail Collins will take participants back to 1960 for a look at what things were like before anything changed. Then follow her through the civil rights movement, women's liberation, the rejection of the Equal Rights Amendment, through the 1980s and the demand to "have it all," all the way to the gender-drenched controversies of the 2008 election. Explore the causes of the revolution in women's rights and expectations, and the unresolved problems that continue today.
