Anglo American International School Reviews

I'm concerned that some of the parent reviews may give the impression that Dwight is a school for troubled students, or those with learning issues. Well it is, but it's also equally balanced with students who are extremely academically bright. Inclusiveness and encouragement to be the best that each child can be are the hallmarks of this school. My daughters previously attended a top London private school (Latymer Upper) and I think that they are getting a superior education at Dwight. Make no mistake, if your child is up to it, then the IB program at diploma level is eye-wateringly academically rigorous. Languages are very strong here (any language can be learned) and sport/art/science/political science are all outstanding - all at undergraduate level for the ablest students. Dwight is a friendly, vibrant, community, with a multinational flavor (37 nationalities), where students are encouraged to become global citizens.

Dwight is truly a caring school and works with kids (and parents) to sort out the many issues that almost all teenagers have - whether they are academic or behavioral. Most importantly they give kids a second chance (or even a third chance) when they stray. Their college counseling is excellent (my son was their through the high school years) as their counselor spends time both with parents and the kid to determine what best suits their child - an evolving process as they go through high school. Athletics are excellent in terms of the quality of coaches and encouragement. The only negative is their facility.

Dwight is a wonderful school that allowed my daughter's reading skills to improve dramatically, and she loves her teachers.

The school is one of two in New York with the rigorous International Baccalaureate program. It has an excellent athletics program - particularly for Tennis
