Notre Dame Interparochial School Reviews

This school is sometimes boring. We have recess in the school parking lot and were not aloud to run ,and they only sell chips all week .Thursdays and Fridays they sell ice cream ,too. Oh one of the chips that they sell are called organic chips and some of them are green that's really awful ,there's all lot left were this came from!

This school is excellent! My daughter loves it. The school went through a much needed restructuring and is now run by an amazing Principal. It is an atmosphere of love and loyalty and respect. The teacher's are involved and caring. The school is a community that feels like one giant family. Many ongoing events. Tons of parent involvement. You and your child will love this school. My daughter is ow in Pre-k 4 and my son wil be entering pre-k3 this September :)

I graduated from Notre Dame in 2003, went on to the Bergen County Academies, and am now attending Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA where I have received well over a $37,000 scholarship for my first year. I have to say I would never be here if it were not for Notre Dame. I found it to be a very loving environment that taught me wonderful values, particularly open-mindedness. As for those parents complaining about discipline - I do not mean to sound rude, but to my recollection the disiplined children all deserved it (and trust me I had my share). And have you seen the small size of the building? Why would you need a rolling backpack? Anyways, I had a wonderful experience there from 3rd-8th grade and though it may be 4 yrs later for me I still know some students and know it has plenty to

I have worked full time in Notre Dame School for 12 years as an adjunct sent from Bergen County. I have the highest regard for Notre Dame and it's approach to educating children from age 3-14.The academics are great and the atmosphere is one of learning all day. This includes being respectful members of the community and being kind to our fellow students and faculty. In response to the review that said 'wheelie' backpacks are not allowed I'd have to say that many students in the upper grades DO have them. But they have been proved to be a tripping hazard and most schools discourage them.Discipline is meted out fairly and mostly involves 7th & 8th Graders who by their age alone NEED to have clear parameters of acceptable behavior.

Great academics, excellent vice principal who cares about the children as well as their education.

PreK -1st grade is wonderful. When the children move to the 'big' building, the atmosphere changes to one of a military academy. No warm fuzzies here.

I am very happy with this school. My daughter loves it.

Very strong on discipline lacking on academics.

I am disappointed in this school. This school no longer concentrates on academics but only discipline. It has become a small bootcamp. The Principal and VP are unapproachable and outright cruel. Most of the teachers are lacking. Gym days they are required to wear 2 full uniforms together which is uncomfortable for the kids.Children are labeled and the parents are insulted by the Principal. Two hours of homework everyday, backpacks weigh 60 lbs and no wheely bags are allowed.Children are made to stand in the corner of the school yard for 25 min repeatedly as punishment.Do not go to this school, they are just outright cruel. If you are willing to give large finacial support to the school you might be treated a little better.

This school is great....i recently graduated and i must admit no matter how much i complained about the discipline and how hard the work was...i realized that once i got into highschool I was ahead of everyone else
