Morning help, afterschool help, extra curricular activities, clubs, and many student council events are just a few of the perks at SBS. Kids get an exceptional foundation. Students themselves will tell you they are the best prepared as they enter their freshman year of high school. Teachers have good managemant skills so every kid is able to pay attention and get the most from every class period. This September the school revieved the NCLB Blue Ribbon Award for excellence. NO OTHER SCHOOL in Brooklyn can claim this honor. Being from another school we have had a taste of what is out there. Let me say that here at St. Bernadette I find all that I ever hoped for and more. Academically it is unmatched, I did not need a Blue Ribbon Award to tell me that. There is more here, there is a real sense of commitment and dedication among the staff. The kids enjoy going to school and doing their homework, they do not look at it as work or as a duty , they enjoy doing it. I can see they are really learning and not just for the exams, but they are retaining it, it is knowledge leading them to wisdom and shaping them for their future. I am grateful for St. Bernadette School, and grateful for Sister Joan. I was very unhappy with the Catholic school he had been attending since kindergarten. I was very impressed with the overall interest the Principle and teachers took in all of the students. We couldn't help but feel welcome from day one. Their curriculum is outstanding, and I feel my son excelled in every subject due to the interest that the teachers took in him and all the students. I would give this school nothing but an A+. My son has now graduated but I am very excited that his sister now starting kindergarten will have a full 10 years with this very outstanding school.”
