Franklin Elementary School Reviews

My child currently attends the school there for the last year! The children are so ridden with rules it is hard to be yourself. The kids play on gravel and concrete and they are not allowed to have balls to play with most of the time. The principal speaks to children about behavior issues that are small or would not seem like issues to parents, but does not inform parents of the meetings. The children are also expected to write 7 essays per marking period, alot of writing and most of the time the kids want to get it done for the time frame rather than really learning what they are writing about. The only saving grace is if your child's teacher is good and we did get a good teacher. Bye Bye Franklin!

In this school, it is not just a slogan, they really seem to know how to make learning fun. The teachers are creative, energetic, supportive and impressively effective. Standardized tests scores have been improving in the last three years. Best of all, my kids are excited to go to school every day.

Franklin School is a great school my children like going there because the teachers and principal are very supportive of the children and they try to make learning fun. The school is a great place for learning and i enjoyed going there when i was a kid.

Dynamic child-centered education. Principal is supportive of teachers and very involved with students. They have a looping program where you can choose classes that will stay with one teacher for two years. Lots of mixed grade activities: 3rd graders writing letters to kindergartners, etc. Very relaxed and nurturing school.

The principal at this school is horrible and only cares about herself. It is dirty and the bathrooms usually have no soap. Franklin School is not a good school.

Franklin School offers a kind and caring environment for all students. The pre-k and kindergarten programs are especially enriching. My dealings with the principal Deanne McLaughlin have always been positive. If you are looking for a small community school, this is the place for you.

Principal is not truly there for the children. She avoids problems, she has bad leadership qualities, no backbone. The bathrooms are always dirty. Too many rules are made against the children. Things are changing for the worse at this school and the children are paying for it ten fold.

Most of the teachers in this school have no patience for young children. There are calls home for things such as kids twirling there hair. Windows have been broken in this school for months. Instead of repairing, they are boarded up. I'm counting down the days until I am out of Bloomfield and no longer have to deal with Franklin School.

This school is no frills. Your child will not recieve individual attention and the staff is unresponsive at best. Gifted and talented does not start before 4th grade and the teacher is shared between schools. There is no guidance department. A counselor is shared between several schools. After school child care is in danger of being lost and there is no busing available. The playground has no equiptment or grass and the children are not permitted to engage in games like tag or run on school property. Violence is not an issue at this school, but it costs individuality, enthusiasm, and spirit and aims to produce cookie cutter kids.
