Eleanor Van Gelder Elementary School Reviews

I have 2 children attending this school and so far we have been very happy with the administration, the extra- curricular activities, and the level of support they provide parents. The area is nice and I like the small class size that they maintain. I think the school has made a big difference in my children's learning development.

Since I've attended this school back in the 70's and thoroughly enjoyed it then, I was happy to move back to Edgewater and have my children attend EVG. To my surprise, EVG became a much better school with additional academics programs such as computer lab, science lab, French and Spanish classes. Since it's a small school, their class size remains small. If your child needs extra help with reading or math, they offer remedial classes during the day. Every day after school, they have some type of extracurricular activity for the children such as singing, violin, homework club, chess, mentoring and many more. Now that two, out of three, of my children have moved on to middle and high school, I must say that when my last child leaves EVG, I will continue to support and volunteer my time at EVG because I feel so connected to the administration

We are very happy with this school. The environment is on that has my daughter who is in second grade, loves going to school. She has had music, art, gym, spanish, computer and science lab since kindergarten and was able to start taking violin this year. There is a very active Parent- Teacher organization. The school also has 2 after school performing arts programs. We will be leaving the area soon and our biggest regret is taking our daughter out of this school.

My child is in first grade at this school, and I am very happy that he is excited about going to school. The teachers are friendly and work hard to help the class.

I currently have 2 children enrolled in school, and so far so good. Its still a small school, and I have gotten to know most of the faculty. They are all very dedicated to the students and are willing to do whatever it takes to improve.
