Bayshore Middle School Reviews

The school has very very good teachers and they really go the extra mile when it comes to your child. The school is plagued with bullies and academic issues. The Principal states that now is the time to be involved with your child but is unreceptive to parents and would rather not bother with your concerns. The teachers make the school great!

The principal does not tolerate bullies. I have a honor roll level student who was being bullied, and the teachers/principal handled the issue immediately. My student needed extra help with math, and the math teachers offered before school help before I could ask.

for all you who think that bayshore may not be the best school. its turning around. a new campaign has gone out explaining...yes we can. All this is in motivation for the new jersey ask. i know that we may of had a bad repulation but that is certain kids in the school. not the school as a whole. I hope you can be able to send your child to bayshore and experience it. As a student of this school i know that this school is great. Children who get in trouble are punished. And for curricular activities there are more than enough. And the activities there are, are great. I just hope that the people blogging are just peopel who don't know about bayshore. as a student i know first hand about it. the teachers and staff are great. i could never thinkof ever going anywhere else.

I cant agree more! to many discipline problems. Bullies rule the school if your child bahaves they are greatly ignored by teachers. Teachers are for the most part well educated themselves but not always willing to go the extra mile to help. Guidance might as well not even get paid they basically do nothing. I have sent three children here and WILL NOT send my fourth!

My child has had a wonderful first semester at Bayshore. He enjoys going to Bayshore school and was ready because of his previous school. The freedom and responsibuilty the staff and faculty give each child is wonderful. The awareness of each childs needs is wonderful to see in action. I do wish they had more to offer for fitness programs for the students, but you can't have everything.

This school is NOT a good school in any way. I have already gone threw two other school districts with two other adult children. The school is overcrowded, the teachers overworked. And as far as any type of extra help if your child should need it as my son does... FORGET it. You have to beg and plead. I was told by the principle.. ' the school teaching/grading etc.. is broken down this way: teachers responcability teaching students.. 60% , student responsability..20%.. and PARENTS responcibility to 'help' with homework etc.. 20%!' Ok I went to school in the 60's. I HAVE no clue how to do the math they are teaching my son, neither does my husband, or two daughters. Why do I have to teach him? is this not what I pay taxes for?

This school has caused nothing but problems for our family. There are next to no extra cirricular activities besides being bullied by children who are not diciplined at all. If there is a problem and you report it, be ready to be ignored. The assistant principal will call and give you attitude. It is definitely worth it to find another school even in another district than bother with this one.

Most of the teachers at Bayshore are wonderful! The coaches are the BEST! The discipline is HORRIBLE, the administrators need to be more involved... they just brush it under the rug, but that is Middletown Schools in general- if we pretend there is no problems they beleive it is true. The principal stands up in front of the parents every back to school night and says this is the time the parents should be involved... but doesn't really want to have the parents involved... doesn't even return emails. The most recent problem was during the Talent show durning school, a group of students yelled nasty things during the ENTIRE show and they were aloud to continue this... NO ONE stopped them.

This school has many activities including these, Basketball Baseball Softball Cross Country Field Hockey Volleyball Soccer and...Wrestling. Excluding wrestling, all these sports have two seperate teams, one for boys and girls. The other activities are... enviromental club student council math club music class (an in class subject also) teen problem solving I'm in charge art class peer leaders newspaper yearbook club and about probably 3 more, i forget, its the summer! Anyway, Bayshore Middle school is wonderful, the teachers are educated very well, strict, yet still creative towards the students. Trust me, I'm a student at htis school, and I am going into the last year, 8th grade. I love this school!!!

Extra-curricular is limited. This school is plagued with discipline and poor academics issues. And each year, the taxes go up for more and more school budgeting.
