Grandview Elementary School Reviews

Competent teachers, great support staff, but no programs for academically advanced children (noncompliance with the NJ dept of education). The school atmosphere is nurturing and equality is promoted, perhaps at the expense of identifying and cultivating the intellectual strengths of the students. A number of parents I've spoken with are considering putting their kids in private schools as they have seen little progress in certain subject areas. This is not to say the children aren't learning anything at all--they learn to commit 'random acts of kindness', to work in teams, to help each other. But if your child is already above grade-level in certain subjects don't expect him/her to add to this knowledge or ability unless you do it on your own.

I have been consistently impressed by the caring nature and quality of education provided by Grandview school. They have given my children a wonderful foundation for learning that I believe will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

Academics are state of the art, extracurricular activities are plentiful and parents play a huge part in running programs, serving lunch, doing library assistant duties and joining in on many celebrations and educational activities. I think the school is nurturing, the students are kind and considerate and there is an air of protection and love that is evident to all. the teachers are in tune with the parents and they communicate well.
