Memorial High School Reviews

Memorial is an excellent school. im a current student, at the beginning i didn't want to go to memorial. now i love it. it becomes your 2nd home, thats if you become involved in activities. the language clubs even offer your children to go with a group of students and parents and visit france, spain, or italy. the teachers are great! its true, they aren't just teachers, they become your friends. they try to help you in every way possible. there is a large list of extra activities. from film to video production to art and wayyy many more. if you send your child here, i would recommend it.

I am a sophmore at MHS and if your thinking of sending your child to this school i think you should first see how unorganized this school is. Theres classes that are always full. The halls are just to crowded. Moreover, theres no air conditioner so its very difficult to concentrate with the hot air. They also had all summer to prepare for the schedules and students had like 3 classes and you couldnt even talk to your counciler. It is an unorganized school!

Memorial H.S. has always been an excellent school. I graduated from that school in 89 and now my daughters attend this school. The academic curriculum is excellent, my daughters are honors students and the classes are challenging to the. The school is what you make of it. If you want to learn, you'll learn, if you want to hang out and be left behind, then you do that. Parents blame the schools and teachers, it is not the school staff, its the parents, you need to become more involved in your child's education. You children learn what they see at home.

MHS is an amazing place to learn and grow. They offer countless extracurricular programs in a wide range of interests, from band, to athletics, to television production. It is unfortunate that the student body seems to have an apathetic attitude towards the opportunities being offered. The teachers are phenomenal. They form friendships with the students and do everything in their power give to students the knowledge they need to successfully graduate. Unfortunately, MHS focuses entirely too much on discipline. Students are constantly removed from class to deal with detention/suspension issues. MHS does not prepare students for college. It doesn't really prepare them for anything post-high school. There are no programs that teach them about using resources, researching methods, preparing for exams, and how to prepare for college life (including dorming).

Memorial High School is a great school to send your kids. The school offers a variety of activities and classes to prepare you for college. Its a great place to learn not only academically, but also socially. West New York would not be the same without a MHS. Go Tigers!

I think memorial is a good school it may not be the best but its decent.

I don't think Memorial is the worst school, but I also do not think it fully prepare students for college. They do offer a wide variety of sports, activities, and classes. However, I think they offer far too many 'cake' classes designed to get barely literate students out of the school in four years. It is a good enough school if a student is extremely self motivated, and has the support and encouragement of his/her parents. There are advantages to be taken, if the students and parents are willing to go the extra mile for them. They are not out in the open for just any student.

I totally disagree with the person who said that there are no extra curricular activities. There are plenty of extra curricular activities at Memorial, now if you have decided to live your life as a hermit, that is something else. Memorial may not be the best school there is, but if you make something of your education, you will get something out of it. Just make sure to take the challenging classes, those are the only ones that will prepare you for the future. Don't just stay there being totally uninvolved, be part of it.

Memorial High School is a wonderful school for students who want to take advantage of the many activities that the school has to offer. I have to confess, at the beggining I was reluctant to send my children to Memorial, but now I am glad I did. Memorial High School teachers and Mr. Sinisi did a great educating my children! I want to thanks each one of them from the very botton of my heart. Sincerely, Rosa Melgar

I graduated from this school in 2004. Although the school might not have as many technological advantages as other schools, I spent the best years of my life in that building. The teachers are not just teachers. They're your friends. This school definitely provides a warm environment unlike any other.

I am a former student and I could have not have asked for a better place to learn. I had fun. I now have a wonderful career and family. West New York is a great place to live along with dedicated teachers.

This school is a poor quality facility, lacks extracurricular activities, no student involvement. As a student I can't wait until the day I leave this school and move on.
