Catherine E. Doyle Elementary School Reviews

My son had one of the BEST First Grade teachers (Mrs. Engel). She was ultra organized and is excellent! Thank you Mrs. Engel!

Provides safe environment. Teachers and parents are very involved but lacks on the academics.

The Superintendent is diligent, the teachers are loving, the Principal is caring, the nurse is skillfull and the librarian is one of the best in the district. This combination is unbeatable.

I have had trouble with the second and third grade teachers teaching style is not conducive to every kids ability to learn. If a child doesn't learn the way they are teaching than your child has a 'problem' and they tell you to do something. How about trying to modify your teaching strategy to let all kids thrive. Not much effort is put forth to help a child if a little support is required. Go try and teach at a inner city school when you have to 'teach' children and actually use skills.

I have had 2 children who have attended this school, one is currently in the 3rd grade, the other has moved on to Ostrovsky. Doyle is a loving environment. A beautiful facility that has great technology. But it is stronly lacking on basic academic teaching. I have found that I have to rely on Kumon to keep my child's skills up to what they should be, this in addition to our taxes? My husband & I are strongly considering moving so that our children can be in a school system that will better prepare them for college and the future.

We heve been very happy with the Catherine Doyle school. We are the parents of two students there, one of which has special needs. The school staff has been very supportive as well as capable of teaching our children. The school as well as the town totally look out for the best interests of all of our childern. There is a real sense of community here. I also can not say enough about the dedication of the entire school staff form the janitors right up to our Principal. We love them all.
