Professional Perf Arts High School Reviews

The new principal who joined the school a few years back is wonderful and really helps the school balance out the need for achieving high academic standards as well as excelling in the arts. The 6th grade teacher is very good and kids who are familiar (and OK) with academic structure will excel. Kids less familiar with (or resistant to) academic structure such as following rubrics or strict homework submission/re-work rules will struggle. The academics here are treated just as seriously as the perf. arts areas. It's like in sports for academic all-stars. The school expects you to excel in both areas. As a parent, I like this because the kids are expected to not lose focus on the importance of academics while honing their special talent.

My son just completed his Sophmore year at PPAS. This is his second High School and I must say that it has been a great experience for him compared to his last school. The staff made it very easy for him to afjust to the program. He quickly made friends and the teachers and staff are very supportive. I have always been able to contact any one of his teachers with any concerns I may have had. We love this school and I am preparing my younger son for addmittance to the 6th grade.

We are new to PPAS this year, and I want to rave about how helpful the staff was to us during the audition and registration processes. Their parent coordinator and registrar really went the extra mile to help. The PTSO is large, active, and welcoming. Newsletters are informative. The principal is a charismatic former teacher of the school. My daughter loves the student body and atmosphere (younger students singing musicals in the halls - and in a study area, a sign that actually says 'No singing in this hall') and is impressed with the education/knowledge level of her teachers. Her homework/studies seem on par with her former [Texas] high school, which had made Newsweek's top 100. So far, I highly recommend this school to students with an arts focus.

This school is great! the aacademics are top notch and the parent involment is amazing. Children in this school are lovely and sweet and there are absolutley no fights. There are a number of extracurricular activities including math, science, theatre, singing, musical theatre and much much more.

My daughter has absolutely loved her first year at PPAS, and so have I. The curriculum is diversified and challenging and presented in such a way where the kids really enjoy learning. Exposure to all possiblities is the best thing about this school. We all love it! -D. Reyes

It's great for my daughter to be in such a wonderful public school. We love everything about this school and we feel blessed that my daughter passed the autidion and has the opportunity to receive such high quality public education.

I couldn't possibly put into words what I think about this school. It is the best thing that ever happened to my child. They are very caring and supportive to both the children and the parents. It's a great school.
