P.S. 32 the Gifford School Reviews

This school would rank higher for me if the administration were better. It has been a common complaint from many parents that there is a lack of communication with them. The principal should really be somewhere else. I dislike this school so much that we are trying to get our child placed in another school where we feel he will thrive because the atmosphere is better for him.

I go to this school its very cool they started a program called etas they have computers dance and knitting this school is good at some assemblys they give certificates to kids this is a great school for kids now statring kindergarden

I have not had any problems with having access to the principal in PS32. As a matter of fact, she is the only person with whom I speak if I have any concerns. She has gone so far as to personally call my home back in response to messages I have left when she was in a meeting. I do agree that the lunch aids lack patience and should be kinder to the children. I am not concerned with AP's I only know that my child is doing well in a safe environment where he/she is happy.

dont like the school at all. the principal does not care about the kids. she just cares about the scores. the AP's also are rude. they treat the children like they are in high school and forget that they are little. if your child needs any kind of help they dont make it easy for you. they really dont care.

The school seems good to me. They just started a program where the kids can do dance, knitting ect during school. The teachers are great. My complaint is lunch time-- there is alot of yelling at the students and they are rushed to eat their lunch.

School needs alot of work. Faculty need to understand that we are dealing with children. Scores are yet to be desired.

This school is alright, teachers and aides aren't the nicest, but it's good enough. Parents do a decent job of putting together events, and the principal is pretty nice.

This is an OK school . It has great parent involvement but the principal is unwilling to bend in anything and it is her way or no way at all . Her AP's are not any better. My child is doing well academically but I would like to see a GYM teacher and programs that make a more well rounded child.

This school is great! My son loves the computer lab and the art room. They just need to fix the entrance.

This is an excellent school. The children work very hard and it shows in their ever increasing test scores. Principal is very approachable and really seems to care. Assistant pricipals are all extremely unapproachable and can be down right rude when approached! Principal really should keep tighter reins on her AP's! Overall great school with wonderful principal but not the best AP's

This is a great school! I'aduating this year, so I'm gonna miss this school. I'm especially gonna miss Mrs.McBratney. Mrs.Blake, and Mrs.Cassara!

I am very happy with the teachers and the academic's. The parent involvement is huge. The Principal is not aproachable or willing to work with you if you have a child who has special needs this school is not for you. It is all about the test scores. Most teachers love the children and work ten times harder because of the children but the Principal makes it hard for them to enjoy what they are doing. This school would have a 10 star raiting if the Principal was not there. The scores have gone down since she took over.

My son started kindergarten in September and I am amazed at how much he has learned. The teachers & PTA are great. They have so many fun activities for the children as well.

I really love this school! All three of my children either attended or still attend this school. The only thing I would change is the administrtaion. They seem really hard to get a hold of and the asst. principals are really rude sometimes. The principal should really get more involved with the parents just like the old administration use to do.Also the PTA should be more diversed. They have their own little clicks and are not to welcoming of new parents. The faculty is great and the kids are well taken care of. My children all loved their teachers! It is a great neighborhood too and parents are very involved. Great school!

P.S. 32 is grades K-5. The teachers are very competent and genuinely care about the education the children are receiving.

My daughter started kindergarten this September. I a very happy with her teachers and what I see she is learning academically. I am amazed at what she has learned so far by just being in kindergarten. The school to me, is definitely a 'money making' school. There is a fundraiser just about every other month! Which can be annoying asking people to buy from your child all the time :) But, all and all the school is great!

I am happy so far with P.S. 32 and my daughter is learning a great deal. She has a wonderful teacher who is very patient and understanding with the children.

The school was ok. Too many bossy parents as well as bossy administration.

This is an excellent school. The teachers are very caring and hard working. The academic program is sound and really produces results. The parents are very involved in school activties as well.

One of the Best elementary schools on the island! The teachers are dedicated, caring and intelligent. The PE teacher is adored by the students -there is a relatively lovely new 'private' playground (though the kindergarten playground, used often by special ed, needs safety improvements). The parent involvement is Tremendous & generous (has to be- we don't get the financial support of poorer schools)- supplying the computer labs, science weather station, library, etc. Really the best elementary school overall when you combine great scores, teacher quality and love and care. Only negatives: Music, PE & Afterschool programs need to be re-instated & the administration does try to secure this. Also, safety issues in the yards (broken cement, mats, garbage bins) need to be addressed. Surrounding streets need speed bumps. Moved to this neighborhood 5 years ago because I heard good things about this school & that is not regretted.
