P.S. 36 John C Drumgoole School Reviews

My daughter had Ms. Rampulla last year and it doesn't suprise me that she is an A plus teacher. We love and really miss her, and I'm sure you will too. Our kids were very lucky to have her, especially when their so fragile at this age. She really set a nice foundation for learning.

I will give this school 5 stars . all 5 are due to thier hiring of the best kindergarden teacher in the world Ms Rampulla .When my daughter was to start kindergarden she was very nervous. The first day of school, which I thought would be hard turned out to be the best thing that has every happened to my Alexandra. She loves her teacher and has learned so much from her .If only every student was lucky enough to get the most loving caring teacher there first year ,every child would love going to school. With this year coming to an end ,It will be hard for us to leave Ms Rampulla .She has been so patient, kind ,loving all year long and I am sure all the other mothers will agree that she is the best teacher in the world! So I will give this school 5 stars just for the hiring of her!

I am not a fan of this school.. I feel there is a huge lack of communication. They do not commuicate in this school at all. You never see the teachers and good luck getting them on the phone.. I am looking to take my child out of this school.

I love my school .Its a great place to grow up .There are great teachers

Both my boys went to this school. My older son excelled and my younger one was lost in the shuffle. Glad we moved when we did.

p.s. 36 is an excellent school and the principal is so personable and concerned about her children. She has put into place many activites for the kids. my children did very well in this school. I would reccommend this schoolover catholic school anyday.

ps 36 seems to be sinking. i will be taking my boys out at the end of the year. its not the ''F''' either. i think the teachers are losing the umph they once had. what a shame!!!!!

This is my child's fourth year in this school. The teachers are wonderful and care about the kids, and I am amazed at how much my daughter is learning. She goes to school and comes home every day with a smile on her face, feels supported and safe in school, and that is due largely to the wonderful teachers she's had. The principal is new and has had a hard time fitting in so far, hopefully things will gel better between her and the staff and faculty. Overall a great school, and I'm happy my child gets to go there.

Principal has her own agenda and is not interested in the children. Teachers are ok, school aides are militant. Special Ed program is not up to par. The office staff is not friendly. Parents are afraid to voice their opinions as it is taken out on the child, a lot of problems here, this school should be better than it is, great neighborhood, great kids, unfortunate that the parents are dismissed and treated like children. We need a principal who respects education, loves children and is dedicated to creating an enjoyable rewarding learning environment that children want to be in.

I am so happy with this school... so far... so good! Teachers, staff, all are great with the kids and parents! High marks go to P.S. 36!

My Grandson went to PS36 for a year. We had alot of problems there. From the teachers to the principal we were given no support what so ever, and were led to believe that the problem was the child and not the school. They also made it quite clear that they wanted 'the problem' to go away as opposed to trying to solve it. He is 6 and is a special needs child. He had been in a prior school since he was 2 with no problems. When he aged out he was placed in PS 36. After suspending the 6 year old 3 times we started looking for another school. We found another school and could not be happier with the progress. It is a shame that no one oversees what goes on at PS 36. Barbara Casalaspro

i am a fith grade student in P.S.36. I am now graduating. P.S.36 has gave me courage and self confidence. I have grew up there. I don't want to leave, but i now it is time for me to move on into the next stage of my life.

My daughter went to PS 36 for kindergarten, and really enjoyed it. I thought her teacher was wonderful. She really went out of her way. It's very rare to find a teacher like that....Academically....the best...

I believe P.S. 36 has some great, very committed teachers. This is my daughter's third year here. She has been fortunate to have teachers who get the kids excited about learning. The school a particularly strong community. Our principal is extremely involved with these children. You will see her every morning at the buses guidin the children to class. She involves herself in lunch room duty too. From what I've seen this Principal seems to be inspiring to both teachers and students alike. The school benefits from lots of parent involvement as well as strong support from the local community. Acedemically this school does very well and is one of the Island's top schools.

My son is now with P.S. 36 four years. He started in their Pre-K Program. His now 3rd grade teacher is excellent, very intuned to the kids, learning with her is fun. I can see how much my son has advanced in P.S. 36. I was amazed that my son was reading right out of there Pre-K program. Reading and writing is a very important aspect of P.S. 36 along with math. Great kids attend P.S. 36. Principal is well loved by each and every child that attends. Rain, snow or any bad weather the principal is there meeting and geeting every child as many as she can every morning and through out the school day, saftey for her school children is the up most importance to her.
