P.S. 229 Dyker School Reviews

P.S. 229 is the best school in the neighborhood. My children are getting a wonderful education.

I love this schoo....This is the best school..I am so happy i live next to the school. My child as got the best support from this school i am happy i put my child in that school for all her years and i hope she picks the best thing and go to the extention of ps229 next year.....Thank you ps229 for all your help!

I agree the parent coordinator is not very helpful, borderline rude. And, yes some of the teachers can be a little harsh, but most of the teachers are great.

It's unfortunate that the parent teacher coordinator is extremely difficult to work with. Also, I've noticed some harsh tones coming from the teachers there.

very educated school and well-behaved students. there may be some trouble once in a while. but great teaching there.

This school is the best school you can ever send your child too. I just graduated last year from the 5th grade. The teacher's are so nice. The PTA does such great things for the school, including a Halloween Party, a dance a BBG for the graduating 5th grade class, a talent show, and many other things. The school also offers a band and orchastra taought by a really nice teacher. I have not one bad thing to say about this school, you get a great education and the people are so nice there. I am upset, though, that I had to leave this wonderful school, but, in about two years, there will be a Junior High. Sign your kids up now and you can have three extra years to enjoy this great school! I wish I was able too. Go to P.S. 229!

High standards. They need more music programs. Learning instruments and a school chior!

This school though academically good, has issues with dealing with parents. The school disicplines without any parent involvement in the process and no talks torward solutions.

Great school! One of the smallest schools in NYC with great teachers.

it's a good school, about 9/11 of the kids in my house went/going to that school.

I'm not actually a parent, in fact I'm an alumnus of PS 229, now attending the University of Maryland. I was a participant in the Delta program, which helped me vastly when the time came for junior high, and later, for high school. I am so pleased to learn that the school is still going strong.

Both my children have graduated from this adorable elementary school. It is considered the 'country club' of public elementary schools in the area. It has a strong PTA. The principal is an assett.
